Household hazardous waste in Redlands goes somewhere else
Keep paint, chemicals, batteries, compressed cylinders, lamps, and electronics out of an ordinary junk pile. Redlands has a local collection facility for accepted residential materials.
Pull special waste out before you request a general junk-removal quote. California says hazardous waste cannot go in garbage, down storm drains, or onto the ground. Electronics are also excluded from ordinary trash.

The San Bernardino County Fire Protection District lists the Redlands City Yard household hazardous-waste facility at 500 Kansas Street at Park Avenue, Redlands, CA 92374. As of our September 18, 2026 retrieval, the posted schedule is Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with closure on county-observed holidays. The listing marks sharps and e-waste as accepted services and provides 909-798-7529 as the facility contact.
How to transport household hazardous waste
Follow the product label and the facility’s current instructions. Keep materials in original containers when possible, keep labels readable, prevent leaks, and do not combine chemicals. Secure containers upright so they cannot tip in transit. Keep them away from passengers and never smoke near flammable products.
If a container is leaking, swollen, badly corroded, unlabeled, or reactive, do not guess. Contact the facility for instructions before moving it.
What stays in the ordinary removal load
Once special waste is separated, the remaining approved load may include furniture, empty boxes, ordinary household goods, and other non-hazardous material. Describe electronics and appliances separately because they may still need a specific recycling route.
